My biggest dream is to feature J Cole, Gyakie is humble and has good vibes - JBee
Uk based Ghanaian rapper, JBee shared on The Cue Show with host Lerny Lomotey over a month ago what a feature from American rapper, J Cole would mean to him.
He described being on the same song with the Grammy award winning rap act as a dream come true. As maintained by him, he has idolized the rap icon for long and can't wait to have a record with him.
The fast rising star talked about how his collaboration with Ghanaian songstress, Gyakie happened, describes her personality and the warm reception he has received ensuing the release of the song.
"I was in Ghana in December. So when I was there, her manager linked up with my manager and she said she got something dancehall and we went to her apartment. Her producer had the beat made already so she dropped the chorus and I did my verse".
"She has good vibes and easy to work with. We are both humble so there was a good chemistry. We connected well". The rapper made known in detailing how the collaboration came about.
The Uk born-Ghanaian rapper attested to the immense recognition the feature has given him in Ghana and across several African Countries like Nigeria,South Africa and Gambia where his joints used to be oblivious to the people hitherto to the drop of "Scar".
"A lot of attention was drawn to me. A lot of people were searching for my social media. I received lots of love looking at the likes and comments. Received lots of love from Ghanaians as well as other African Countries like Nigeria, South Africa, Gambia".
"I would love to work with some Ghanaian acts like Black Sheriff, King Promise and other different acts. I look up to sarkodie because he has been doing it for years. I admire him for pushing Ghana for long". The young rapper discussed intentions of working with some Ghanaian acts as he eulogized legendary rapper, sarkodie.
Identity crisis is something the young drill music chap indicated he didn't have to struggle with while living most part of his life as a black in the UK.
Even though a chunk of his colleagues may have battled and still battling with making the world know who they really are, he sounded proud and made his profile clear and never shied away from his roots as a Ghanaian.
"I have never had identity crisis. I have always cherished where I come from, whether Ghana or Uk. I'm proud of where I'm from so it's never a problem for me". The rapper noted.
"I will be dropping a mixtape very soon. I wanna be able to come to Ghana and come see and work with some artists to keep that traction going". He announced for his fans to be on a lookout for a mixtape as he declared plans to travel to the motherland to connect with her great acts.
JBee is currently promoting his upcoming project dubbed "THE TAPE HBK" which drops on the 28th of July together with a headline show scheduled to take place in London on October 27.
