I gave up on everything. I went on isolation to heal and figure myself out - Freda Rhymz

Former Black Avenue Muzik signee, Freda Rymz opened up on 3music TV as she enumerated what led to her 2 years break off the music scene.

The female rapper revealed on the Culture Daily Show in March 2023, the rationale behind her absence in the Music Industry, as well as challenges she had to battle with before and during her break.

Speaking to what informed her decision to go on hold for that long period, she noted that,

"In the course of chasing my dreams, I lost myself completely. I felt like my career was going in a way that was not fulfilling to me. I was overwhelmed with how things were happening in my life so I just gave up".

She disagreed with the notion of being cluttered as a female in a male dominated industry and whether that formed part of her decision to embark on a break with this angle,

"Well, life just happened. It was just life. I wouldn't say because I'm a woman or anything. It was life and it happened and I had no other option than to face it in terms of my career, personal life, family issues and stuffs like that".

"And I traveled out of the country for a change of environment".

"Yeah I did. But like I said ,the way things was happening at that time in my life, I had to put me first. I had intentions of coming back definitely but then it just happened and I had to face it". Her retort on why she didn't consider how her fans were going to feel preceding her leave off the Entertainment Scene.

"I got signed to another record label called Young Mission Entertainment but things didn't go how I wanted it".

"I was in a rush. I just wanted things to happen for me. Immediately I left Black Avenue Musik, I was out there looking for another Record label to sign to just because I wanted to get my music out there because I know a lot of people believe in me and wanted to see more from me. So I also felt like doing whatever I can to put myself out there". Freda disclosed in response to why both Record labels didn't work out for her like she expected.

Freda Baffour Awuah, Popularly known as Freda Ryhmz is a young Ghanaian female rapper whose brand became noticeable after she emerged winner of MTN Hitmaker season 6 in 2017 where she churned out series of stunning rap performances.

She got signed on to Black Avenue Musik post MTN Hitmaker through DJ Breezy ,her personal producer for the Hitmaker show, who introduced her to the Record label head, D black.

Freda recounted on the show the number of artists signed on the label and how it did not facilitate the success she wanted to see her career chalk. The recognition she had gained from Hitmaker was dwindling because there was limited focus on her which had affected her release of songs at the time.

"We were too many artists on Black Avenue Musik. I had just won MTN Hitmaker, had a lot of buzz around me. But because it had a lot of artists on there, they didn't really get time to focus on me so I had to dip".

"Because it's a lot of artists on there and you have to hold on sometimes was kinda frustrating to me. Leaving the label was hard but I think black understood the game and realized it was so many artists on his label. And I wasn't the only one giving him the pressure". She averred in disappointment on the show why she had to exit the label.

The rapper mentioned that there's no way she will join Black Avenue Musik neither would she consider a decision to go back to the label.

"I don't think I wanna go back to BAM considering  where I'm at right now. I am doing certain things for myself now. I want to be there for myself, do things for myself and learn how to rely on myself for now".

She continued that, "I'm at a point where I'm still figuring things out. I'm still finding myself, doing things for myself. Things that I rely on people to do for me I am doing them for myself now". The "saucy" hit maker spilled out her joy in being an independent act now.

"I went to the states for a change of environment and also to explore. I didn't go there to work or start my career there". She revealed the thought behind her decision to visit the states during the break.

Following her comeback is the release of her new music in "Don't kiss me" which she is currently promoting.
