Transport fares goes up today-GPRTU finally implements..

Ghana Private Road Transport Union(GPRTU),upon several meetings with the government, ended on level grounds which urged them to proceed with their decision to increase transport fares which has taking effect today. This outcome has obviously emerged due to the 10% increase in fuel prices across all pump stations in the country.

A 20% increment in transport fares is what the Ghanaian passenger will have to foot to be able to commute to their various destinations.Coupled with the outrageous increase in prices of goods and services we are stressfully dealing with across the country.

This budget crippling development comes as a shock and confused one for the ordinary overburdened Ghanaian whose daily meal is likely to be threatened.Meanwhile, some Ghanaians anticipated the hike and therefore had to adjust their budget to be able to optimize cost.Others also had little or no idea about the fare surge and were left in a dilemma of contemplation this morning. This situation did not only curtail people's daily endeavors as it also compelled them to go back home to prepare well for this unexpected price hike in subsequent days before they board the next vehicle.
