Traders in some parts of Accra halt operations starting from today.
Agitated traders in some part of Accra in solidarity with GUTA have embark on a strike action today following the galloping rise in the dollar which has caused the cedi to depreciate drastically.
GUTA,who is proposing to the government a reduction in interest rates and also some stability in our exchange rate is yet to meet with government for an amicable solution to be reached on this development.
Ghana in some few weeks has seen it's currency decline at a deteriorating pace at the expense of a skyrocketing dollar. This unfortunate development has created an unpleasant instability in prices of goods and services while citizens regularly complain about the incessant hike in prices anytime they go to town to purchase some products. In the midst of all this,we are to expect an increase in fuel prices and by extension, transport fares soon.
