Teacher unions reject new boss.
Teacher Unions in the country have kicked against the appointment of the new Ghana Education Service director general,Dr. Eric Nkansah after the dismissal of the former,Professor Kwasi Opoku Amankwah.
Displeased members of GNAT,NAGRAT and other teacher unions argue out the point that this new head whose background is enormously related to banking do not qualify for the position as he is not well abreast with the technicalities of the educational sector and that his chances of thriving to make the sector a success is a minute one.
GES,who has over the years seen it's behemoth come under some grave criticism from concerned citizens and aggrieved teachers whose plights and requests for a reconstruction of dilapidated school structures,a review of the curriculum,basic amenities to facilitate teaching and learning processes,bungalows, as well as a favorable adjustment with regards to their salary structure are yet to be heeded to with a long lasting solution provided for them by government.
